I just wish the Fortune Cookie People had considered how hard the whole “knowing when to quit” would be to carry out when a woman like me is gambling with her feelings.

Heart-palpitating, vageen-tingling, butterflies-in-my-belly feelings for a noncommittal, hot-as-sin player by the name of Jude Winslow.

After a crazy night where we were both pretending to be someone else, I’ve found myself immersed in the fun of the fling.

REVIEW:

Holy hot stuff, Max Monroe, what did I just read?! As a purveyor of Max Monroe’s romantic comedies, I know reading their books is going to be a real good time. Between fanning myself, swooning and howling with laughter, this author duo never fails to thoroughly entertain me. Their books are always high on the heat, but The Bet, the first book in their new Winslow Brothers series, is their hottest yet. Buckle up, romance readers, because you’re in for a wild time with this one.

An opposites-attract romcom featuring the devastatingly handsome commitment-phobe nightclub promoter, Jude, and event/wedding planner Sophie, who’s searching for the fairytale version for her own happily-ever-after. These two were fire and gasoline from the start. The problem was that Jude was only looking for a good time, not a long time, and Sophie wasn’t looking to just play, she was looking to play for keeps. Jude had quite the alpha-hole side to him, and there were certainly some parts where I wondered why she didn’t just smack him upside his head. A bit of a heart-wrencher, there was a touch more angst and emotion in this story than readers typically experience from this author.

The Bet  was fun and flirty and five-fluffing-alarm fiery hot. Witty banter and sizzling chemistry fuel the build-up of Jude and Sophie’s relationship, and I devoured this unputdownable story in a day! The Bet  by Max Monroe gets 4.5 smooches from me!

REVIEW:

The third book in Kendall Ryan’s Looking to Score series, The Rookie is a touching and steamy opposites attract, forbidden sports romance. I love Kendall’s writing so much. Her stories run the gamut from fun, lighter-hearted reads to romantic comedies to contemporary romances full of feels and fire. I love this series so much—I can’t get enough of these players and their stories! Kendall Ryan has done a phenomenal job with all of her hockey romances, but this series is a bit more emotional and angsty.

Logan and Summer’s story pairs a young, angry hockey player in a downward spiral with his team-appointed counselor. Logan Tate has it all, but he’s lost what mattered most to him. He’s a talented hockey player, but his on-ice performance is suffering. He’s distracted, he’s depressed, and he’s discouraged. That frustration builds until it finally erupts, and his coach has no choice but to act. Summer is just starting her own business counseling athletes, and in the male dominated sports healthcare profession, she’s got her work cut out for her.

The problem is that pesky chemistry between them. Holed up on his family’s ranch in Colorado, she gets a full helping of the entire Tate family. For a girl who’s alone in this world, his family sucks her in and she falls just as hard for them as she does for Logan. But with her budding career on the line, she’s got hard choices to make.

The Rookie was a sexy, tender, emotional love story.  I loved Logan and Summer, I loved the side characters, especially Logan’s hilarious family, and I couldn’t read this one fast enough. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! The Rookie by Kendall Ryan gets 4.5 smooches from me!

REVIEW:

I’m nursing one heck of a book hangover thanks to Vi Keeland and her latest contemporary romance, The Spark. One of my go-to, auto-buy authors, Keeland’s books has landed on my top favorite reads each year, sometimes more than once, since I started reading her work. Her unputdownable, all-consuming love stories are the kind that I can barely tear myself away from, and I’ve finished every single one of her books still thinking about the characters and their stories days later.

The Spark pulled me in with a perfectly paced plot rich with sizzling chemistry and kept me hooked from the start. I loved Donovan, he was such a swoony, patient hero. A high profile, white collar attorney, he’s worked hard to pull himself up from the humble, haunted beginnings of his childhood. Autumn, a social worker, has her own heartbreaking history, and because of it, she’s shied away from relationships. She and Donovan had a fun meet cute courtesy of a case of mistaken luggage, which ends up with them spending an unforgettable weekend together before Autumn ghosts Donovan.

Months later they meet again, and the sparks were still flying and all the attraction between them comes rushing back, but things are now a bit complicated. Keeland very effectively builds their backstory for the reader through flashbacks, and my heart ached for both of them, but especially Autumn. I felt this couple’s longing for and attraction to each other as they worked together, but their relationship was a bit stunted by their circumstances. Donovan patiently waited for Autumn to figure herself out, and I loved how he didn’t give up on her. There were some interesting side characters who rounded out a what was already a fantastic story into something truly special.

The slowly burning build-up of Donovan and Autumn’s relationship was a delicious backdrop to this couple’s chemistry which practically sparked off the page. A steamy love story with punches of emotion and an interesting plot, The Spark was another addictive, passionate romance from Vi Keeland! Five smooches from me!
